Trained as an artist in my home country and Italy, I use the same method studied by the masters of the 19th century.
While painting the live model I focus on exploring the light, shadows and halftones. Observing the natural light is interesting and at its best a meditative process which gives me a strong sense of the present moment. My paintings are based on direct observation of nature and natural light.
I find it psychologically interesting to paint the model alone in the studio. This painting Reflection is bringing the outdoor reality through the mirror to the space.
